St. Lucia welcomes MSC Fantasia on its inaugural call into Port Castries

On Monday 4 th December 2017, agents of MSC Cruises, Cox and Company Limited, along with representatives from the St. Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority and representatives from the Department of Tourism, welcomed the Captain, crew and passengers of MSC Fantasia into Port Castries.

Mrs. Pearl Leonce, representative of the Port Agency, Cox and Company Limited, in her opening remarks, indicated how vital cruise tourism is to the growth of the industry and thanked MSC cruises, for the confidence it continues to place in the island and people of St. Lucia. She continued by indicating the agency’s commitment to ensuring that the cruise sector continues to grow.

Also present at the ceremony was the Chef Pilot of the St. Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority, Mr. Nichalan Myers, who welcomed the Captain to St. Lucia and to Port Castries.

Captain Stefano Aiello, spoke highly of St. Lucia, having been to the island before on another vessel and indicated how happy he was to return to the island.

MSC Fantasia sailed into port with 1270 crew members and 3385 passengers.
